The Founders Affiliate of the American Heart Association is recruiting to fill a Director Heart Walk position to join our team of directors for the Wall Street Run and Heart Walk. This position is responsible for:

  • Achieving a revenue goal of $450,000 for fiscal year 2018/2019 by developing and maintaining relationships with AHA corporate and community partners;

  • selling sponsorships and generating participant income for the annual Heart Walk;

  • developing new company and volunteer recruitment plans as well as driving income goals;

  • driving new business development through sponsorship sales;

  • recruiting and stewarding c-suite volunteer leaders, team captains and walkers based on nationally established best practices for the Heart Walk;

  • driving peer-to-peer fundraising;

  • monitoring participant fundraising trends and implementing proven strategies to maximize income;

  • conducting a minimum of 10 face to face meetings per week

  • building a network of meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance our mission.

In this role, you will report to the Senior Director Heart Walk for NYC and will be based in our NYC office. You will work as part of the team to achieve the overall revenue goal $3.8 million for the Wall Street Run and Heart Walk.

  • demonstrated success in achieving assigned revenue goals;

  • ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management,

  • great organizational, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills,

  • proven ability to understand and navigate corporate cultures to successfully identify, cultivate, recruit, and maintain relationships with top level volunteers/customers to achieve goals;

  • ability and willingness to work outside standard hours as needed, (including evenings and weekends) to successfully meet the requirements of hte position;

  • willing to travel within your territory on a daily basis as well as occasional travel to other locations in the affiliate and to our National Center in Dallas, Texas for meetings or training.

Media Group, and various other training and support mechanisms locally and through our National Center.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree. Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education.

Experience: Experience in fundraising, outside sales is highly desirable. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
