We have an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Development Director, Heart & Stroke Walk in our Austin Division. The selected candidate will have fundraising responsibilities tied to corporate sponsorship and participant income for the annual Austin Heart & Stroke Walk. This position has a planned fundraising goal of $500-$600K annually. This event brings together corporate partners, medical leaders, community leaders, and volunteers within the community to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke, the number #1 and #5 killer in America. The territory is the Austin area.In 2018, the Austin Heart & Stroke Walk raised $1.5M. The projected goal raised for this year is $1.73M.
The date of the next Austin Heart & Stroke Walk is October 19 th , 2019.
Job duties include:
Revenuegeneration and volunteer management for theAustin Heart & StrokeWalk.
Conductingsales calls to generate new business and manage existing companies.
Developingrelationships with volunteers, sponsors and key corporate andcommunity leaders.
Goalsetting with corporate companies and individuals to raise funds andawareness.
Working alongside the events and logistics team to coordinatingevent efforts and meet company needs to deliver on promised activations.
Networkingwithin the local area and recruiting and retaining our valued volunteers.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor’sdegreefromanaccredited university preferred.College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1½years’experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education.
Musthaveatleast2 years of experience in fundraising, outside salesorinanon-profit organization in a similarcapacity.Thisexperience mayalso count towards satisfyingthisposition’seducational requirement.
Organization,communication,negotiation,andinterpersonal skills are a must.
Abilitytoaccomplishresultsthrough strong volunteer recruitmentandmanagement.
Proventrack record in meeting sales/fundraisinggoals.
Candidatesmustberesultsdriven with the ability to multitask.
Musthavestrong knowledge and skill set within Microsoft OfficeSuite including but not limited to managing emails in Outlook, developing reports in Excel, creating presentations in PowerPoint and crafting letters in Word.
Musthavetheabilityto lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground towaistlevelwithor without reasonable accommodation.
Mustalsobewillingand able to travel within the assigned territoryup to75%.
