We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Director, Heart & Stroke Walk in our Austin Division. The selected candidate will have fundraising responsibilities tied to corporate sponsorship and participant income for the annual Austin Heart & Stroke Walk and the Hays/Caldwell County Heart Walk and be responsible for a small fundraising goal. This candidate will also help steward and grow relationships to provide beneficial outcomes; recruiting, managing and motivating volunteers; planning and executing logistics of auxiliary fundraising events; maintaining donor or sponsor databases; coordinating event administration, schedules and meetings; controlling inventory of marketing, presentation, or fundraising materials; and preparing financial or operations reports.
These events bring together corporate partners, medical and community leaders, and volunteers within the community to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke, the number #1 and #5 killers in America. The territory is the Austin, Hays and Caldwell County areas. In 2018, these events raised $1.5M, and our 2019 goal is to raise $1.73M.
The date of the next Austin Heart & Stroke Walk is October 19 th , 2019 and the Hays/Caldwell County Heart Walk is in April.
Job duties include:
Revenue generation and volunteer management for the Austin & Hays/ Caldwell County Heart & Stroke Walk.
Conducting sales calls to generate new business and manage existing companies.
Developing relationships with volunteers, sponsors and key corporate and community leaders.
Goal setting with corporate companies and individuals to raise funds and awareness.
Working alongside the events and logistics team to coordinating event efforts and meet company needs to deliver on promised activations.
Networking within the local area and recruiting and retaining our valued volunteers.
Create and run reports from internal databases and systems. Ensure that income targets, goals, weekly reports are timely, clear and effective in meeting leadership needs related to revenue. Track and report on sponsorship income, pledged dollar amounts and event donation information for events. Ensure accuracy and adherence to the latest policies and practices of the AHA as they relate to fiscal and event financials Develop schedule, plan strategy, and execute against timeline for meeting deadlines.
Perform administrative duties as required or requested.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
2 years of experience with public event planning.
2 years of experience working with and managing volunteer staff.
2 years of experience with promotions, sales, or fundraising strategies.
2 years of experience in negotiating services and managing service level agreements.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Customer Relationship Management systems.
Candidatesmust be results driven with the ability to multitask.
Musthave strong knowledge and skill set within Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to managing emails in Outlook, developing reports in Excel, creating presentations in PowerPoint and crafting letters in Word.
Musthave the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
