If you have the desire to take your career to the next level, apply now to join our team as the Vice President of Development for the Greater Washington DC Region. This position will be responsible for some of the largest special events and work with the highest-level executives in the territory while supervising a team of 6 direct reports.
The VP of Development is responsible for
operationalizing the vision, management of staff, and implementation of strategic priorities, and volunteer and employee engagement plans;
leading an overall strategy for fundraising, managing timelines, and holding staff accountable;
preparing and managing the operating budget for the region;
for meeting specific financial targets;
building a network of meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance our mission
participating in community and corporate functions that will provide networking and visibility opportunities and facilitate generating new business contacts.
You will report to the Executive Director and will be based in our Arlington, VA office. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

while a bachelor’s degree or some college coursework combined with related experience is helpful;
having at least seven years of experience in non-profit fundraising and volunteer management in combination with seven years of managerial experience leading fundraising staff is highly desirable;
you should have a consistent track record of meeting sales/fundraising goals;
you have experience in securing corporate donations through participating in and leading top-level sponsorship asks;
you know how to cultivate major donors, secure city-wide sponsorships, and recruit new companies and donors;
you are willing to work outside of standard hours in support of events, sponsors and volunteers including evenings and weekends as needed;
you are able to travel within your territory daily as well as occasional travel to other locations?
